Infrastructure Design Engineer (Data Center)

Location: Sunnyvale, CA - US (On-site)

Compensation: $155,000–$190,000 + Bonus + RSU

What you will do

• Design whitespace layouts including rack placement, aisle configuration, and airflow strategies.
• Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to integrate power and cooling infrastructure.
• Optimize designs for capacity, scalability, redundancy, and energy efficiency.
• Develop CAD/BIM drawings, schematics, and 3D models of whitespace environments.
• Create capacity planning models to forecast growth and infrastructure scaling.
• Support construction, installation, commissioning, and deployment activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities, or Data Center Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in data center design, preferably in cloud or hyperscale environments.
• Strong understanding of power distribution systems, UPS architectures, and HVAC infrastructure.
• Proficiency with CAD/BIM tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Visio.
• Knowledge of industry standards including TIA-942, Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, and ANSI/BICSI.
• Must be able to work on-site in Sunnyvale, CA and willing to travel to data center sites as required.
