Senior Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to work from San Ramon, CA; Reno, NV; or New York, NY

Salary: $214,500–$295,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and grow a cross-functional engineering organization focused on AI leverage.
• Own the engineering strategy and execution for the internal AI platform, including intelligent agents and shared services.
• Partner with executive leadership to define the internal AI roadmap and prioritize high-value investments.
• Build an AI-first engineering culture that leverages LLMs throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Measure success through organization-wide adoption, productivity gains, and measurable business impact.
• Mentor engineering leaders and individual contributors to foster technical and professional growth.

Requirements

• Must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of leading high-performing teams.
• Demonstrated success managing engineering managers or senior engineers in scaling organizations.
• Deep passion for generative AI and experience applying LLMs and AI agents to create business leverage.
• Proven ability to partner with cross-functional leaders to influence strategy and deliver outcomes.
• Strong technical judgment and experience building internal platforms or enterprise AI products.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI agents, copilots, RAG systems, or multi-agent platforms.
• Hands-on experience with modern LLM platforms like OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini.
• Familiarity with AI evaluation frameworks, observability, and model orchestration.
• Experience introducing AI-enabled development practices using tools like Claude Code or Cursor.
