Knowledge Engineer (AI)

Salary: $175,000 – $241,000 per year

What you will do

• Capture and document operational procedures, experiments, and workflows by collaborating with engineers and operators to create clear runbooks
• Structure and standardize documentation using docs-as-code practices including versioning, formatting, and defined schemas
• Integrate and organize data by linking documentation with logs, configurations, and analysis outputs
• Develop AI-assisted tools in partnership with software engineers to support LLM-powered solutions
• Prototype automation workflows and lightweight agents to support run summaries and anomaly investigations

Requirements

• On-site presence in Everett, WA, USA
• Experience with data or knowledge modeling (schemas, metadata, ontologies)
• Experience with technical documentation systems (e.g., Confluence, Jira)
• Strong software engineering skills in Python or similar languages
• Ability to structure ambiguous information into structured systems
• Experience collaborating with domain experts to extract knowledge

Nice to have

• Experience building internal tools for engineering teams
• Exposure to CAD or engineering design tools
• Experience using LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude) in production
• Experience building LLM-powered tools such as RAG and search
• Exposure to large-scale hardware environments
