Staff AI Platform Developer (AI)

Location: Remote (United States)

Salary: 167,000–230,000 USD per year for remote work in the United States; 167,000–230,000 CAD per year in Canada.

What you will do

• Drive adoption of AI capabilities across Product Development teams.
• Architect and implement internal AI solutions using LLM applications, agents, RAG systems, and workflow automation.
• Build prototypes and production services integrated with GitHub, Jira, Slack, documentation platforms, service desks, and business applications.
• Partner with DevOps to create reusable platform components for model access, prompt management, retrieval, monitoring, evaluation, logging, permissions, and cost tracking.
• Evaluate AI models, APIs, tools, and vendors for quality, reliability, security, privacy, latency, and cost.
• Design guardrails, support responsible AI practices, document development patterns, lead knowledge-sharing sessions, and transition production solutions to Product Development teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, internal tool development, DevOps, ML systems, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, vector search, reranking, context management, structured outputs, tool use, and agentic orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with MCP and ACP interoperability protocols, production LLM evaluation and fine-tuning, security guardrails, and cost optimization.
• Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or another modern backend and automation language, plus REST APIs, Git, CI/CD, Linux/Unix, containers, and production deployment workflows.
• Must be based in the United States for the remote role. Participation in an on-call rotation begins 6–12 months after starting.

Nice to have

• AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, or other cloud and infrastructure experience.
• Integrations with Slack, Jira, GitHub, Confluence, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Zendesk, ServiceNow, or similar systems.
• Experience with self-hosted, open-source, or private AI model deployments.
• Experience in quantum computing, scientific computing, or hardware/software systems.
