Software Engineer on the Simulator Team (New College Grad) (AI)

Location: On-site at the Sunnyvale headquarters/office or Toronto office

What you will do

• Develop and maintain C++ simulator infrastructure for next-generation Wafer-Scale Engine systems.
• Contribute to functional simulation covering architectural correctness, instruction behavior, state, and memory semantics.
• Develop pipeline-accurate simulation for execution behavior, bottleneck analysis, and performance visibility.
• Build tooling that helps kernel developers, compiler and runtime teams, architects, and verification engineers understand correctness and performance.
• Collaborate with design verification and architecture teams to align simulator behavior with hardware specifications.
• Improve test coverage, runtime performance, scalability, usability, documentation, and engineering workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong C++ programming skills and software engineering fundamentals.
• Understanding of computer architecture, including instruction execution, memory systems, and microarchitecture basics.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate across software and hardware teams.
• Availability for on-site work at the Sunnyvale or Toronto office.

Nice to have

• Experience with architectural, functional, or performance modeling.
• Experience with test automation, regression systems, or CI pipelines.
• Python or scripting experience for tooling and automation.
• Familiarity with parallel systems, accelerators, or ML/HPC workloads.
