What you will do

  • Perform sample accessioning, DNA extraction, real-time PCR testing, and data review according to standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct high-complexity clinical molecular testing in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Execute quality assurance and quality control activities, maintain records, complete reviews, and support internal audits.
  • Support method and assay development, workflow optimization, analytical validation, and software verification testing.
  • Prepare technical and scientific content for procedures, policies, whitepapers, and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Collaborate with laboratory and cross-functional teams while supporting inventory, client service, clerical, and scheduled weekend coverage needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related chemical, physical, or biological field.
  • At least 60 semester hours from an accredited institution, including the specified medical laboratory technology, chemistry, and biology coursework.
  • 1–2+ years of post-baccalaureate clinical experience in a high-complexity CAP/CLIA-certified laboratory environment.
  • 6–12 months of hands-on molecular technique experience, including nucleic acid extraction.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, independence, attention to detail, and ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to support scheduled weekend shifts as needed.

Nice to have

  • ASCP certification or eligibility for certification in a related specialty.
  • Prior experience in a CLIA laboratory environment and 4+ years of high-complexity testing experience.
  • Experience with laboratory automation, liquid handling systems, assay development, primer and probe design, assay optimization, and troubleshooting.
