Network Security Engineer

Location: On-site in San Jose, California. The team is fully in-person, with relocation support available for candidates moving to San Jose.

Salary: $175,000–$275,000 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design and implement zero-trust network architecture across on-premises data centers, offices, and multi-cloud platforms.
• Segment HPC clusters and sensitive ASIC, EDA, simulation, CI, validation, and manufacturing environments.
• Deploy and operate NDR, IDS/IPS, next-generation firewalls, centralized SIEM pipelines, and actionable detection workflows.
• Integrate EDR/XDR, MDM/MAM, SASE, CASB, and DLP controls across endpoints, cloud SaaS, and corporate networks.
• Own network vulnerability management, including scanning, prioritization, remediation tracking, and configuration-as-code automation.
• Lead network security incident response, develop runbooks and playbooks, and support compliance and customer security reviews.

Requirements

• Deep networking expertise covering packet analysis, firewall forensics, BGP, multi-cloud networking, and CASB/SASE integration.
• Hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls, FortiSASE, FortiAPs, switches, and Arista platforms, including EOS automation.
• Ability to write code and intent-driven automation, version-control configurations, and treat security as an engineering discipline.
• Experience securing data centers, HPC clusters, semiconductor design environments, or similarly sensitive compute infrastructure.
• Experience operating ZTNA, network security monitoring, EDR/XDR, MDM/MAM, SASE, CASB, and unified DLP or access-control frameworks.
• Strong Linux fundamentals, including iptables/nftables, network namespaces, and eBPF, with the ability to communicate risk to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with EDA environments or semiconductor IP security.
• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure network security controls, including security groups, VPC flow logs, cloud firewalls, and CSPM.
• Exposure to NIST, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 frameworks.
• Experience with eBPF-based network observability and security tooling.
