Staff Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States

Salary: $157,371–$236,340 USD annually, plus equity

Divergent develops the Divergent Adaptive Production System, a machine-learning-enabled factory system for engineering, additive manufacturing, and flexible assembly of complex vehicle structures and subsystems for automotive, aerospace, and defense applications.

What you will do

• Identify and analyze threats across enterprise IT and OT environments.
• Tune SIEM detections and develop correlation searches, network intrusion detection rules, and firewall logic.
• Act as the technical escalation point for complex cybersecurity incidents.
• Implement STIGs and other security baselines across corporate systems, architecture, and applications.
• Conduct post-incident reviews, identify architectural gaps, and define security enhancements.
• Research threats, report cybersecurity intelligence, and maintain incident response plans and playbooks with the ISSM.

Requirements

• Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or a related technical field with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or 5+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Expertise in cybersecurity analytics and professional experience in a SOC or similar cybersecurity services environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including troubleshooting security issues and providing user support.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• At least one DoD baseline security certification, such as CISSP, Security+, or A+ Security, or the ability to obtain one rapidly; overtime, weekend, and overnight work may be required.

Nice to have

• CISSP or OSCP certification.
• Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines under pressure.
• Technical leadership experience in a SOC or similar cybersecurity services environment.
