Logistics Specialist II

Location: On-site at 280 Madsen Dr, Bloomingdale, Illinois 60108, United States; local travel and Front Half or Back Half shifts, including weekends and holidays, may be required.

Salary: $18.92–$27.24 per hour

What you will do

• Monitor inbound and outbound first- and middle-mile transportation movements across the network.
• Track shipments, identify service risks, and manage exceptions including delays, breakdowns, accidents, weather events, and capacity constraints.
• Coordinate with carriers on updated ETAs, recovery plans, and delayed or failed shipment recovery.
• Execute transportation incident management procedures, escalate issues, and communicate service-impacting events to internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate shipment statuses in transportation systems and support carrier onboarding and operational readiness.
• Document incidents, participate in post-incident reviews, daily operational reviews, shift handoffs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, dispatch, brokerage, or operations.
• Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment and collaborating across multiple teams.
• Comfort with transportation management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple issues, and make effective operational decisions.
• Must be able to work on-site in Bloomingdale, Illinois, and work overtime as needed.
• Must be available for Front Half or Back Half shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.

Nice to have

• Experience with first-mile, middle-mile, or linehaul transportation operations.
• Experience working with carriers or freight brokers.
• Knowledge of Hours of Service, transportation terminology, and carrier operations.
• Experience with load tracking systems or transportation visibility tools.
