Embedded Software Engineer - Access Control

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; onsite five days per week

Annual pay range: $150,000–$300,000 USD

What you will do

• Build cloud-managed access control systems for managing doors, schedules, and user credentials.
• Develop embedded software for access control devices and related Linux-based systems.
• Work alongside firmware, backend, and frontend engineers on the access control product line.
• Take technical ownership of major systems and drive loosely defined product ideas through completion.
• Solve large and complex engineering problems while learning and applying new technologies.

Requirements

• BS or graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related science.
• 3+ years of Linux development experience as a software engineer.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and experience with Bash scripting.
• Familiarity with Linux servers, device drivers, kernel patches, secure operating systems, and security-focused programming.
• Experience with Yocto; familiarity with Secure Boot, Go, Python, WebRTC, distributed systems, HTTP, and practical debugging techniques.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week in San Mateo, California.
