Director, Data Product & Operations (Healthcare AI)

Location: Hybrid, onsite 3 days per week in Chicago, IL; New York, NY; or RTP, NC

Salary: $170,000–$200,000 annually for roles performed from Illinois; compensation may vary by location, qualifications, and experience.

What you will do

• Set the strategy, prioritization framework, and multi-quarter roadmap for data sources, partnerships, and integrations.
• Lead a cross-functional team of connectivity engineers, data product engineers, and domain SMEs through integration delivery and ongoing operations.
• Manage executive-level relationships with data partners and translate partnership agreements into product and integration requirements.
• Establish repeatable processes for data ingestion, normalization, quality validation, monitoring, and operational SLA management.
• Define requirements for data formats, interoperability standards, metadata, provenance, and discoverability across the platform.
• Own metrics for data coverage, completeness, freshness, quality, adoption, compliance, and risk.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience with data, platform, or integration products, or comparable data engineering, technical program management, or partnership experience.
• Experience setting strategy and operating models for a function or portfolio and scaling them over time.
• Deep familiarity with healthcare data standards and interoperability, including FHIR, HL7, OMOP, ICD, SNOMED, LOINC, and real-world data.
• Strong technical foundation in data models, APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data quality concepts.
• Experience influencing executive-level external partners and driving execution across engineering, legal, business development, and clinical stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across partner, executive, and technical discussions.

Nice to have

• Experience building or scaling data partnerships in healthcare, life sciences, genomics, or clinical data.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA, data privacy, consent, and de-identification practices.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and modern data infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with SQL or scripting for data exploration and validation.
