TL;DR

Network Software Engineer, Real-Time Systems (Robotics): Building low-latency, high-reliability communication and audio/video streaming systems for robotic platforms with an accent on cellular networks, edge-to-cloud connectivity, and distributed device infrastructure. Focus on designing adaptive communication under mobility, network handoffs, intermittent connectivity, and degraded real-world conditions.

What you will do

Build low-latency, bidirectional audio and video streaming systems for telepresence and teleoperation.
Design and optimize real-time communication over private 5G and heterogeneous networks.
Monitor and improve latency, jitter, packet loss, throughput, QoS, congestion control, and adaptive streaming.
Develop, test, and deploy communication systems directly on robotic platforms and physical hardware.
Ensure reliable performance during mobility, network handoffs, degraded connectivity, and changing field conditions.

Requirements

MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Strong experience with real-time or near-real-time communication systems, including TCP/UDP, RTP/RTCP, or WebRTC.
Strong networking fundamentals, especially wireless and cellular networking.
Experience with Linux networking and debugging tools such as tcpdump, iperf, ss, and iw.
Familiarity with distributed systems, device-to-cloud architectures, and ROS/ROS2 or similar robotics frameworks.
Experience developing and validating systems on physical hardware rather than only in simulations.

Nice to have

Experience with LTE/5G deployments, including private 5G networks.
Background in telepresence, teleoperation, or real-time audio/video streaming.
Experience with WebRTC, GStreamer, RTP pipelines, mesh networking, or device-to-device communication.
Expertise in adaptive bitrate, congestion control, QoS, and fault-tolerant networking.
