TL;DR
Hardware / Low Level Security Engineer (AI hardware and low-level security): Hardening the Linux kernel, firmware, secure boot, and hardware roots of trust that support Cerebras AI compute platforms with an accent on kernel security reviews, platform integrity, and hardware isolation. Focus on identifying memory-safety and privilege-escalation issues, building eBPF monitoring, and responding to kernel CVEs and hardware-level threats.

Location: US and Canada offices

Company

hirify.global builds large-scale AI compute platforms based on wafer-scale processor architecture for high-speed model training and inference.

What you will do

  • Partner with platform, infrastructure, and hardware teams to embed security controls from physical hardware through runtime.
  • Design and implement security hardening across the Linux kernel, bootloader, firmware, and host operating system.
  • Drive secure boot, measured boot, and attestation strategies across wafer-scale systems and supporting host nodes.
  • Review kernel modules, drivers, and low-level components for memory-safety, privilege-escalation, and isolation issues, then lead remediation.
  • Develop kernel-level monitoring and telemetry, including eBPF-based detection of attacker behavior.
  • Track kernel CVEs, supply-chain risks, and hardware-level threats while documenting threat models and remediation playbooks.

Requirements

  • Background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering with a career focus on cybersecurity.
  • Deep familiarity with the Linux kernel, including kernel modules, syscalls, namespaces, cgroups, eBPF, and LSM.
  • Hands-on experience with firmware, UEFI, secure boot, TPM, and platform integrity tooling.
  • Strong proficiency in C and a modern systems language such as Rust or Go, with the ability to read and write production kernel code.
  • Familiarity with hardware isolation primitives such as IOMMU, SR-IOV, and confidential computing.
  • Strong written communication skills for explaining low-level security concepts to non-specialists.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to non-standard compute architectures.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on a wafer-scale AI platform beyond conventional GPU constraints.
  • Opportunities to publish and open-source AI research.
  • Work with one of the fastest AI supercomputers.
  • Job stability combined with startup vitality.
  • Simple, non-corporate culture that respects individual beliefs and supports continuous learning and growth.
