Location: US-based hybrid role with office attendance at least 3 days per week. Available locations include Mountain View, Pittsburgh, Seattle, San Francisco, Bozeman, Coppell, Livonia, and Louisville; Mountain View is preferred. Full remote is not available.
Salary: $212,000–$307,000 per year for Mountain View and Seattle; $191,000–$277,000 per year for Pittsburgh. Annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits are also available.

What you will do
- Define end-to-end security architectures and trust boundaries across autonomous vehicle hardware, onboard systems, safety-critical ECUs, cloud services, infrastructure, and applications.
- Design secure boot flows, cryptographic key management, HSM/TPM integrations, and secure protocols for data at rest, in transit, and between vehicles and cloud systems.
- Lead threat modeling, including TARA and STRIDE, vulnerability analysis, and security design reviews for autonomous vehicle, sensor, network, compute, and cloud systems.
- Translate security goals and requirements into implementable engineering designs while assessing product risk and protecting product integrity.
- Drive security requirements with hardware and software suppliers, Tier 1 partners, product teams, and engineering organizations.
- Develop security roadmaps, assurance processes, governance, and risk mitigation strategies across the hardware and software product lifecycle.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in security architecture, system security engineering, or product security for automotive, autonomous vehicles, embedded systems, or complex hardware/software systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related STEM field.
- Deep expertise in embedded security, hardware security anchors such as Secure Boot, ARM TrustZone, HSMs, and TPMs, applied cryptography, and secure protocol design.
- Experience with architectural security assessments, system-level threat modeling, and secure design reviews for hardware and software platforms.
- Strong technical leadership and communication skills, including the ability to influence cross-functional engineering teams and drive architectural decisions.
- US work authorization is required; visa sponsorship may be required to employ the candidate.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of ISO/SAE 21434, ASPICE, ISO 27001, or UNECE R155/R156.
- Experience engaging OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, commercial partners, or other external stakeholders.
- Experience securing autonomous vehicle stacks, safety-critical ECUs, telemetry systems, cloud infrastructure, and cloud applications.
- Experience building security architecture frameworks in safety-critical or regulated industries.
- CISSP-ISSAP, CISM, or equivalent certification.
