Engineering Manager - Observability

Location: Hybrid, based in one of the offices in London, United Kingdom; Aarhus, Denmark; or Dublin, Ireland

What you will do

• Manage a growing engineering team focused on building quality infrastructure platforms.
• Architect large-scale distributed tracing and metrics platforms for CrowdStrike service teams.
• Support team retrospectives, capacity planning, and collaborative technical discussions.
• Lead design reviews, provide feedback, and approve design proposals.
• Participate in proof-of-concept demonstrations and architecture sessions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of industry experience and experience leading highly technical engineering teams.
• Experience with observability and tracing solutions such as OpenTelemetry, Tempo, or Sentry.
• Experience with observability and metrics platforms such as Prometheus or Thanos.
• Software development experience, preferably building Kubernetes operators with Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments and cloud platforms, preferably AWS and GCP.
• Experience with TDD, CI/CD, chaos engineering, or similar infrastructure resilience and reliability practices.

Nice to have

• Experience working effectively with local and remote teams.
• Contributions to or involvement in open-source projects.
• On-call experience and knowledge of SRE, DevOps, or GitOps practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
