Frontend Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Chicago, United States; on-site

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 USD per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Build and own the production design system on shadcn/ui and Tailwind, including components, tokens, patterns, and documentation.
• Design and ship full product features from wireframes or high-fidelity concepts through production React implementation and iteration.
• Redesign and modernize merchant onboarding, dashboards, and checkout flows.
• Set the visual direction for a trustworthy, fast, and precise fintech product.
• Make architecture decisions covering component composition, theming, and reusability.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to represent multi-chain settlement, card networks, and fraud and risk states accurately.

Requirements

• Strong command of shadcn/ui, Radix primitives, Tailwind CSS, React, and TypeScript.
• Portfolio or GitHub history showing products designed and built independently from start to finish.
• Strong product design judgment across typography, spacing, color systems, information hierarchy, and complex data-heavy interfaces.
• Experience building or significantly extending a production design system, including versioning, theming, and documentation.
• Ability to own ambiguous product decisions and define interaction patterns without relying on an existing specification.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, crypto, or other data-dense and trust-sensitive product categories.
• Familiarity with Next.js, React Native, or motion and animation libraries such as Framer Motion or GSAP.
