HVAC Building Technician (Mobile) New Haven (HVAC)

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, USA; mobile work between assigned properties

Salary: $34.00–$40.00 per hour

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, inspect, and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building systems.
• Maintain chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAV systems, compressors, refrigerant systems, and water systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including filter changes, coil cleaning, condenser flushing, bearing lubrication, belt and alignment checks, and water-treatment monitoring.
• Monitor energy management systems and verify field conditions, equipment operation, and required repairs.
• Conduct fire and life safety inspections, maintain emergency exits and equipment rooms, and respond to fires, evacuations, equipment failures, and customer concerns.
• Document work, report activities to supervisors, and travel between properties in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship completion is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in commercial properties.
• Experience maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, and water systems.
• Knowledge of building systems operations, maintenance, repair, and energy management.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record; required trade licenses or permits may apply, including refrigeration or high-pressure boiler certifications.
• Basic skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word; ability to work shifts, on call, extended hours, and emergency assignments.
