Data Engineer (SQL/Redshift)

hirify.global is hiring for a client in the financial services sector, rebuilding the data platform behind UK automotive marketing products.

What you will do

• Re-engineer marketing data pipelines with ingestion workflows, dbt transformations, and Redshift warehouse models.
• Own production databases, including performance, integrity, security, and cost management.
• Introduce CI/CD for database development, with version-controlled, tested, and deployable schema changes.
• Automate data-quality processes and migrate legacy SFTP workflows to AWS Transfer Family.
• Build repeatable ingestion, validation, and mapping processes for automated automotive client onboarding.
• Use AI tooling such as Claude for query optimisation, pipeline debugging, and documentation.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience building data pipelines or managing production databases.
• Expert SQL skills, including production experience with SQL Server and T-SQL, plus a columnar warehouse such as Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
• Experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks, Python, and orchestration or ETL tools such as AWS Glue, Airflow, or Step Functions.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven experience migrating data workloads with parallel runs, reconciliation, validation checks, and controlled cutovers.
• Comfortable working in English with UK-based stakeholders and documenting pipelines for ongoing operation and maintenance.
