Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote (Must be legally eligible to work in the United States)

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable data architecture for targeting and engagement.
• Build and optimize pipelines for RCT platforms and foundational voter datasets, including APIs and federation layers.
• Develop AI tooling for quality control agents, evaluations, and self-documenting repositories.
• Optimize orchestration layers for cost and reliability to handle millions of outreach attempts during election cycles.
• Maintain key datasets for polling images and precinct cross-matching.
• Lead cross-functional projects and mentor teammates through code reviews.

Requirements

• 3-6+ years of experience in designing, building, and operating production data pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with a modern data stack: cloud data warehouses (BigQuery or similar), dbt, and orchestrators like Dagster or Airflow.
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.
• Proven track record of leading technical work and scoping ambiguous problems end-to-end.
• Commitment to the mission of building progressive power and comfort operating on a political calendar.

Nice to have

• Experience in the progressive, political, advocacy, or nonprofit sector.
• Familiarity with voter file data and tools used by campaigns for organization and outreach.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with on-call rotations and mentoring junior engineers.
