Location: Remote. Applicants from all time zones are welcome; preference is given to candidates who can overlap with UTC–8 (Pacific Time) and UTC+1 (Central European Time). Access to offices in Berkeley, California is available, but office attendance is not required.

Annual salary: $125,000–$155,000 USD.

What you will do

• Set and maintain practical security protocols and standards.
• Identify and remediate security risks while supporting engineers and researchers with implementation.
• Own access management across Google Workspace, GitHub, AWS, Google Cloud, 1Password, Slack, and Airtable.
• Manage cloud accounts, IAM, budgets, quotas, software subscriptions, licences, and renewals.
• Run technical onboarding and offboarding, including account and group management.
• Provide first-line technical support for account and software issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security, DevSecOps, IT operations, or a similar field.
• Experience owning security for a medium-sized organization.
• Experience supporting complex technical or research projects, ideally in AI.
• Fluency working with engineers and communicating security tradeoffs.
• Experience with identity, access, endpoints, and cloud operations.
• Professional English proficiency is required.

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of Google Workspace administration and AWS IAM.
• Familiarity with AI research and hirify.global's work.
• Ability to travel for staff retreats and relevant conferences.
