Principal Software Engineer (Go)

Location: Onsite in Sunnyvale, California, 5 days a week in the office

Salary: $225,000–$270,000 base salary per year

What you will do

• Develop containerized microservices for a distributed, multi-tenant system processing real-time cloud data, events, and network telemetry.
• Design and architect the platform and subsystems, defend technical decisions, and deliver robust implementations.
• Own critical features and subsystems across requirements clarification, development, deployment, and customer usage.
• Operate production systems and improve software supportability, resilience, and reliability.
• Build code quality through developer, functional, and integration testing.
• Mentor junior engineers, new graduates, and interns, and partner with Product Management on product goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience building distributed and scalable software and systems.
• Professional experience with Go and SQL, REST API clients, and Unix/Linux programming environments.
• Programming-level experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with containerized platforms; the platform is based on Kubernetes.
• General TCP/IP networking knowledge and a willingness to learn and collaborate in a team setting.

Nice to have

• Experience with networking and security controls.
• PostgreSQL and Redis experience.
• CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible experience.
