Salary: $190,000 – $210,000

What you will do

• Guide architecture and solutions for the Beacon Datastore and influence architectural standards across Platform teams
• Implement features that model best practices and improve data integrity, design soundness, and maintainability
• Draft RFCs to lead complex feature discovery and technical design phases, aligning stakeholders on decisions
• Design scalable data models and build event-driven pipelines for expanding business needs
• Coach engineers and stakeholders on design patterns and engineering best practices
• Collaborate with product and technical leads across platform and scientific teams

Requirements

• Location: Fully remote working anywhere in the US
• 10+ years of backend development experience with significant experience in data engineering, data platforms, and data-centric infrastructure
• Strong SQL skills with production experience using PostgreSQL
• Experience with data streaming and event processing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar, or Amazon Kinesis or equivalent)
• Experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Helm)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for asynchronous, remote-friendly collaboration
