Senior Financial Analyst

Location

Location: Arlington, VA (hirify.global Headquarters), Alexandria, VA (Mark Center), or telework within the National Capital Region. Must reside within a reasonable commutable distance to the National Capital Region (50 miles).

What you will do

• Prepare and process budget execution documentation, including Purchase Requests (PRs) and Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs).
• Manage and monitor program budget execution (commitments, obligations, expenditures, and funding status) and maintain monthly spend/expenditure plans.
• Analyze execution trends, identify funding risks, develop mitigation strategies, and recommend actions to senior leadership.
• Develop executive-level financial reports, dashboards, briefings, and decision-support products; build and maintain financial models and budget spreadsheets.
• Lead budget formulation activities supporting the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process, including budget exhibits and congressional budget documentation.
• Support forecasting, funds reconciliation, unliquidated obligation (ULO) research, and financial taskings from the Comptroller and other DoD organizations.

Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance.
• Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant financial management experience, or bachelor’s degree with 4+ additional years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting DoD financial systems and processes.
• Experience initiating and processing MIPRs and conducting ULO research.
• Experience supporting DoD budget formulation and budget execution within the PPBE process; knowledge of DoD Financial Management Regulations and budget execution policies.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial analysis) and ability to work independently; must reside within 50 miles of the National Capital Region.

• Experience using DoD budget and resource analysis tools and techniques.
• Experience supporting financial audits.
• Experience with G-Invoicing, Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), and Advana.
