What you will do

• Own end-to-end delivery of AI product features from initial concept through production.
• Architect systems that orchestrate LLMs, retrieval, and structured data, balancing flexibility, reliability, and performance.
• Establish evaluation frameworks and feedback loops to systematically improve AI output quality.
• Lead technical direction within product areas, breaking down ambiguous problems and guiding execution.
• Mentor other engineers to raise the bar for product thinking and engineering quality.
• Utilize modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate team iteration speed and productivity.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and scaling product-facing systems with a track record of owning complex features.
• Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable code, preferably in Python.
• Experience with AI/LLM-powered systems or the ability to ramp up quickly.
• Strong ownership mindset and the ability to drive projects from idea to production.
• Experience thriving in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Mountain View, CA

Nice to have

• Experience with prompting, evaluation, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).
• Experience designing systems that specifically balance latency, cost, and quality.
• Exposure to user feedback loops, experimentation, or evaluation frameworks.
