Materials and Process Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Develop scalable manufacturing processes for advanced material systems used in humanoid robotic platforms.
• Transition materials technologies from laboratory concepts into production-ready manufacturing workflows.
• Optimize process consistency, yield, throughput, and product quality through data-driven experimentation and validation.
• Connect material composition, processing conditions, microstructure, and functional performance.
• Identify and implement manufacturing technologies for scalable production of soft and functional materials.
• Collaborate with chemists, materials scientists, mechanical engineers, designers, and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of industry or postdoctoral experience in materials processing, fabrication, or manufacturing technologies.
• Hands-on experience with polymers, elastomers, composites, textiles, coatings, or multilayer material systems.
• Experience with casting, coating, lamination, calendaring, embossing, fiber processing, molding, or thermoforming.
• Strong knowledge of materials processing, characterization, process validation, and manufacturing scale-up.
• Strong experimental, first-principles problem-solving, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with additive manufacturing, soft-material 3D printing, photolithography, or microfabrication.
• Experience developing production processes for soft robotics, wearable devices, sensors, or advanced material systems.
• Familiarity with roll-to-roll manufacturing, precision coating, curing technologies, or continuous processing.
• Experience correlating material microstructure and processing conditions with mechanical, tactile, or functional performance.
• Experience transferring technology from R&D environments into manufacturing operations.
