Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: In-person work in the New York City or San Francisco office

Salary: $150,000–$350,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Train production machine learning models.
• Contribute to open-source projects.
• Evolve infrastructure for training the next generation of language models.
• Optimize ML training systems and eliminate data-loading bottlenecks.
• Improve training workflows by overlapping communication with computation and supporting off-policy rollouts.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to production incidents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience writing high-quality, high-performance code.
• Experience with PyTorch and high-level training frameworks such as Hugging Face, verl, or slime.
• Experience optimizing machine learning training workloads.
• Ability to work in person in the New York City or San Francisco office.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to production incidents.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with low-level operating system foundations, including the Linux kernel, file systems, or containers.
