Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: Must be located in or planning to relocate to San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or Seattle, United States

Salary: $137,100–$201,600, $167,800–$246,800, or $203,500–$299,300 USD annually, depending on level, location, and qualifications. Equity grants may also be included.

What you will do

• Build production models for delivery and pickup ETA, merchant preparation-time estimation, and order release prediction.
• Develop deep learning systems using large-scale spatiotemporal, marketplace, and behavioral data.
• Apply reinforcement learning and optimization to logistics decisions, assignment strategies, and marketplace efficiency.
• Create AI-native experiences with LLMs and VLMs to process pickup photos, receipts, item verification flows, and drop-off images.
• Design online experiments, production monitoring, and continuous model iteration.
• Collaborate with software engineering, product, data science, and platform teams to deploy ML capabilities at scale.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience building and shipping production machine learning systems with measurable business impact.
• Experience with production deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and distributed data technologies such as Spark and Airflow.
• End-to-end experience building, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining production ML systems.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python and experience with modern ML infrastructure and tooling.
• Deep expertise in at least one area: deep learning, reinforcement learning, optimization or operations research, LLMs, or VLMs.
• Must be located in or planning to relocate to San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or Seattle.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with LLMs or VLMs.
• Experience in logistics, marketplaces, or delivery platforms.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.
