Software Engineer, AI

Location: San Francisco, CA; in-office 5 days per week, within walking distance of Caltrain.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-driven agentic systems that expand core AI capabilities.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate emerging AI research into practical solutions for developers and enterprises.
• Prototype and refine AI functionality using real-world feedback.
• Identify and resolve product stability and scalability challenges across the Factory Platform.
• Explore and integrate large-scale data processing techniques to improve AI system reliability and effectiveness.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering after completing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, AI, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency with LLMs and experience applying AI/ML techniques to complex, unstructured problems, ideally in software engineering.
• Ability to navigate ambiguous research projects independently from conception through deployment.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts and strategies at different levels.

• Experience with data-intensive applications.
