What you will do

• Support veterinarians and the practice team in delivering proficient veterinary care and a positive client experience.
• Assist with laboratory, radiology, anesthesia, dental, and other medical equipment.
• Handle animal bodily fluids and tissues while following established procedures and standards of care.
• Communicate patient updates to veterinarians and collaborate with other team members.
• Use the practice information management system and support proper pharmacy and controlled-substance recordkeeping.
• Review invoices, process client payments, maintain clean workspaces, and assist with inventory needs.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in a veterinary practice.
• Experience in veterinary medicine and the ability to complete the Veterinary Assistant skills checklist.
• Strong empathy, compassion, customer service, communication, observational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and follow SOPs and standards of care.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 80% of a shift and frequently lift 50–70 pounds with an optional team lift.
• An accredited veterinary assistant program is preferred.
