Lead Environmental Artist (Game Development)

What you will do

• Lead environment creation from concept through final implementation.
• Set and maintain the visual quality bar while meeting technical and performance requirements.
• Create optimized modular kits, architecture, terrain, props, materials, and set dressing.
• Collaborate with Technical Artists, Level Designers, Lighting Artists, Engineers, and Art Direction.
• Define environment art pipelines, workflows, technical standards, and asset budgets.
• Profile and resolve issues involving geometry, materials, textures, lighting, draw calls, memory, LODs, and asset complexity.

Requirements

• Professional experience as a Senior or Lead Environment Artist in game development.
• Portfolio demonstrating visually compelling, production-ready environments.
• Strong understanding of real-time optimization and visual fidelity versus performance trade-offs.
• Advanced knowledge of environment production pipelines, modular workflows, LODs, materials, shaders, texture optimization, and asset budgets.
• Proficiency with industry-standard 3D tools and experience with Unreal Engine and/or Unity.
• Leadership, mentoring, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
