What you will do

• Review and curate bibliographic citation records and associated publication metadata.
• Analyze journal articles to identify research funding, grant indicators, funding agencies, and grant numbers.
• Review secondary source identifiers, repository references, and clinical trial identifiers.
• Establish and validate relationships among related publications, including errata, comments, corrections, and retractions.
• Apply journal-specific editing instructions, processing codes, curation standards, and quality-control procedures.
• Identify data-quality trends, support process improvements, and provide guidance or escalation assistance to Data Curator I staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in library science, information science, life sciences, public health, biology, biomedical sciences, research administration, data management, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in metadata management, data curation, research support, scientific publishing, library services, content management, or information quality review.
• At least 2 years of experience analyzing structured and unstructured information and applying detailed business rules or curation guidelines.
• At least 2 years of experience with biomedical literature, research databases, scholarly communications, or scientific publishing workflows.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with XML, metadata standards, digital repositories, clinical trial registries, or grant administration concepts.
• Knowledge of NIH-funded research, U.S. Public Health Service agencies, or research data management.
• Experience with quality assurance, quality control, continuous improvement, peer review, or training support.
