Strategic Finance Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Remote with office presence in Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa

What you will do

• Build and maintain the company’s Long-Range Plan including base, stretch, and market-specific scenarios
• Create audit-ready financial models for market entry, distribution costs, and funding analyses
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements and cash flow tie-outs before executive review
• Support monthly and quarterly FP&A cycles including variance analysis and reporting
• Collaborate with leadership to document assumptions and defend model logic
• Help migrate planning processes into Anaplan as the team scales

Requirements

• Must have experience building complex three-statement financial models from scratch under deadline pressure
• Strong understanding of operational drivers and their impact on financial statements
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills to explain assumptions to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in investment banking, transaction services, or similar rigorous modelling background preferred
• Ability to work on multiple workstreams with incomplete information and tight deadlines
• Fluency in English at C1 level or higher

Nice to have

• Experience with Anaplan or other planning platforms
• Exposure to fintech, lending, or consumer credit sectors
• Experience working with multi-currency, multi-entity African businesses
