Senior Data Scientist (Supply Chain Operations Research)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end Operations Research modelling workstreams for warehouse routing, transportation, inventory placement, network flow, and purchase order allocation.
• Formulate optimization problems with clear objectives, constraints, and measurable success criteria.
• Apply linear programming, mixed-integer programming, constraint programming, heuristics, vehicle routing, and network flow methods.
• Build, deploy, monitor, evaluate, and iterate production models, feature pipelines, optimization workflows, and model-serving components.
• Use LLM-assisted formulation, agentic problem decomposition, and AI-augmented experiment design while validating results scientifically.
• Partner with Planning Tools Engineering and supply chain stakeholders in Bengaluru and Palo Alto, communicating assumptions, trade-offs, and recommendations.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in Operations Research, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience building and shipping production models with measurable business impact.
• Strong expertise in optimization methodologies, including LP, MIP, CP, heuristics, vehicle routing, and network flow.
• Hands-on experience in a supply chain Operations Research domain such as transportation, warehouse routing, inventory placement, procurement, or network optimization.
• Experience with production-grade data science workflows, optimization solvers, feature pipelines, experimentation, model serving, backtesting, and monitoring.
• Experience applying AI or LLM tools to model formulation, problem decomposition, or experiment design, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience in e-commerce, retail, logistics, transportation, warehousing, or supply chain optimization.
• Experience with Gurobi, CPLEX, OR-Tools, or similar optimization solvers.
• Experience with large-scale vehicle routing, network optimization, decision-support platforms, or cloud-based data science and model deployment platforms.
