Data Manager (AI)

Location: Hamburg, Germany; flexible hybrid model with work from home on Mondays and Fridays and office attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

What you will do

• Build and lead interdisciplinary data pods combining analytics, data engineering, and ML.
• Establish team rituals, communication practices, prioritization, and collaboration routines.
• Guide the transition from siloed analyst work to a generalist model supported by Claude and Databricks.
• Work hands-on with Claude, Databricks, and high-frequency data updated every few minutes.
• Partner with leadership on target profiles, hiring needs, and team growth.
• Drive evidence-based decisions and translate insights into clear, decision-ready recommendations.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in data analytics, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Hands-on people management experience and the ability to balance technical depth with team leadership.
• Several years of hands-on Databricks and/or Spark experience.
• Daily use of Claude or similar AI tools in personal workflows.
• Understanding of at least two areas among analytics, data engineering, ML, and data science.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in evolving environments.
