Focus on investigating security events, leading containment and forensic support, tuning EDR and SIEM capabilities, and improving detection workflows across endpoint, network, identity, email, and cloud environments.
Location: Hybrid in Short Hills, New Jersey; Hartford, Connecticut; or Charlotte, North Carolina

What you will do
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert and escalation point for Cyber Defense, providing technical leadership and mentorship.
- Monitor, investigate, triage, and respond to security alerts across endpoint, network, identity, email, and cloud environments.
- Lead incident response activities, including scoping, evidence review, forensic support, documentation, containment, and escalation.
- Administer, tune, troubleshoot, upgrade, and optimize EDR, SIEM, NAC, vulnerability management, and other security platforms.
- Lead detection and response improvements by reducing false positives, closing visibility gaps, and enhancing tools, processes, and workflows.
- Coordinate with internal teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors on remediation, reporting, compliance, and security capability implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, risk management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in information technology, information security, or risk-related roles.
- 5+ years of direct experience in cybersecurity, security operations, incident response, cyber defense, detection engineering, or related disciplines.
- Experience independently managing complex technical initiatives from assessment through implementation and coordinating across teams.
- Working knowledge of NIST CSF, SOX, HIPAA, NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500, and related cybersecurity and privacy requirements.
- Availability for after-hours and on-call support during incidents, security events, or critical business situations.

- CISSP, GIAC, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, or an equivalent industry certification.
