Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States

Salary: $157,371–$236,340 USD annually, plus equity; level-dependent ranges include Senior / S05 at $157,371–$204,582 and Staff / S06 at $181,800–$236,340.

Divergent develops the Divergent Adaptive Production System, an end-to-end manufacturing platform using machine learning, additive manufacturing, and flexible assembly for complex vehicle structures and subsystems.

What you will do

• Identify and analyze threats across enterprise IT and operational technology environments.
• Tune SIEM detections, develop correlation searches and network intrusion detection rules, and implement firewall logic.
• Act as the technical escalation point for complex cybersecurity incidents.
• Implement STIGs and other security baselines across corporate systems, architecture, and applications.
• Conduct post-incident reviews, threat research, and regular cybersecurity threat intelligence reporting.
• Develop, maintain, and test incident response plans and playbooks; conduct security assessments and define remediation strategies with the ISSM.

Requirements

• Lawful access to information and technology subject to US export controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or a related technical field with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or 5+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Expertise in cybersecurity analytics and professional experience in a Security Operations Center or similar cybersecurity services environment.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, user support, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and overnight hours when needed.
• At least one DoD baseline security certification, such as CISSP, Security+, or A+ Security, or the ability to obtain one rapidly.

Nice to have

• CISSP or OSCP certification.
• Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Technical leadership experience in a SOC or similar cybersecurity service.
