Resident Engineer (Networking)

What you will do

• Design and develop networking, cloud infrastructure, and customer-environment solutions using established engineering practices.
• Create and execute validation plans, testing methodologies, and implementation procedures for network designs.
• Lead and support moderately complex networking and cloud infrastructure projects with engineering teams and external partners.
• Collaborate with engineering, JTAC, escalation, and customer teams to resolve technical issues and deliver projects successfully.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring while communicating solution designs, risks, migration strategies, and project status.
• Support routing architecture, migration, optimization, troubleshooting, and automation across large-scale IP service provider networks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Networking, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in networking, cloud, or service provider environments.
• Strong knowledge of IP routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, RSVP, LDP, EVPN, VPLS, IPv6, and QoS.
• Hands-on experience with Juniper MX, QFX, and EX platforms using JUNOS CLI.
• Knowledge of route reflector topologies, routing policies, migration strategies, network scaling, VPN technologies, cloud networking, and SDN.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, customer-facing, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills, plus scripting experience with Python, SLAX, or similar technologies.
