Senior Frontend Engineer - Infrastructure (TypeScript, JavaScript)

What you will do

• Build software, frameworks, and infrastructure that improve the frontend testing experience for Canva engineers.
• Design, build, and evolve core components of the Quality Platform and automated testing ecosystem.
• Lead the technical design, delivery, and adoption of platform solutions across engineering teams.
• Reduce test flakiness, improve test health visibility, and implement smarter diagnostics.
• Improve CI/CD test feedback loops so engineers receive fast, actionable results.
• Own the architecture, scalability, performance, and health of testing infrastructure while contributing to Canva's testing strategy.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering experience designing, building, and maintaining robust systems.
• Strong knowledge of system design, data structures, operational best practices, and technical trade-offs.
• Hands-on JavaScript experience; the coding interview will use JavaScript.
• Experience with developer tooling, testing infrastructure, CI/CD systems, platform engineering, or similar developer-facing areas.
• Experience leading significant engineering initiatives from ambiguous problem definition through design, implementation, delivery, and adoption.
• Understanding of unit, integration, and end-to-end test automation, including reliable and scalable testing frameworks.
