Embedded Firmware Engineer (IoT)

Location: Complete onsite in Carlsbad, California, United States; travel to an Arrow client office may be required as requested by client leadership.

What you will do

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware for IoT and video streaming products.
• Own firmware components and features from architecture and design through production.
• Develop device drivers, communication protocols, RTOS components, and platform firmware.
• Collaborate with hardware, cloud, mobile, QA, and ODM partners on system integration and product delivery.
• Troubleshoot firmware, hardware, and system-level issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Evaluate hardware components, review schematics and datasheets, and contribute to design and code reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 7+ years of embedded firmware development experience, preferably with IoT, networking, or video streaming products.
• Strong Embedded C and C++ programming skills with experience on RTOS and Embedded Linux platforms.
• Experience with multimedia processing, compression, streaming technologies, multithreaded software, and embedded device drivers.
• Knowledge of TCP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, RTP, RTSP, SIP, WebRTC, Wi-Fi, BLE, and LTE.
• Experience with Git, hardware debugging tools, performance optimization, and cross-functional engineering collaboration.
