Healthcare IT Managing Consultant - Technical

Location: Remote with up to 75% travel to client sites as needed

What you will do

• Lead complex, multi-resource client engagements and manage scope, timelines, risks, deliverables, and client expectations.
• Act as the primary technical contact and present technical findings, recommendations, and roadmaps to executive, operational, and IT stakeholders.
• Provide advanced guidance across healthcare applications, database architecture, EHR/PM platforms, and system integrations.
• Design, maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot scalable, high-availability Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Implement and support HL7 interfaces, interface engines, secure data transfers, and healthcare interoperability workflows.
• Lead backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, reporting, analytics, documentation, and project governance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in healthcare IT systems administration, database management, or technical consulting supporting ambulatory environments.
• Advanced Microsoft SQL Server administration experience, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with HL7 interfaces, integration engines, interoperability workflows, and troubleshooting across database, application, and interface layers.
• Experience with healthcare platforms such as NextGen, Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Aprima, or ModMed.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and multi-project management skills, with willingness to travel up to 75%.

Nice to have

• FHIR familiarity.
• Prior consulting experience with direct client ownership.
• Experience with SSRS, Crystal Reports, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.
