TL;DR
Test Cell Technician (Engine Testing) (Industrial Engines): Operating and testing 400–5000 HP Waukesha engines in a temperature-controlled engineering lab with an accent on test setup, instrumentation, data acquisition, and emissions measurement. Focus on disassembling and rebuilding engine systems, fabricating test assemblies, and executing complex performance and durability tests.
Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin, United States. Onsite work in a temperature-controlled engineering laboratory. First shift, Monday–Friday, generally 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.

What you will do
- Operate and test Waukesha engines ranging from 400 to 5000 HP in collaboration with engineers and laboratory colleagues.
- Install test parts, prepare fixtures and assemblies, and set up test instrumentation and measurement equipment.
- Collect, document, and communicate measurement data and test results.
- Disassemble, inspect, measure, rebuild, maintain, and repair engine components and systems.
- Fabricate and machine components and assemblies to specified requirements.
- Support automated testing and perform complex performance, durability, and emissions tests.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Engine Systems, Mechanical Technology, Automotive/Diesel Technology, or a related technical field, or a high school diploma/GED plus four additional years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, problem-solving skills, and analytical ability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong documentation skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with engines, test cells, automotive or diesel equipment, agricultural equipment, or related mechanical systems.
- Experience with diesel, natural gas, industrial, agricultural, automotive, marine, or heavy equipment engines.
- Experience operating dynamometers, engine test cells, data acquisition systems, instrumentation, or emissions measurement systems.
- Basic knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring diagrams, welding, machine shop tools, and metal fabrication.
- Mechanical rebuild, maintenance, or repair experience.
