TL;DR

Network & Security Administrator (Ubiquiti UniFi/MDM): Designing and maintaining reliable network infrastructure, device security, access control, and security awareness systems across offices, labs, and field sites with an accent on network performance, documentation, and endpoint protection. Location: South San Francisco, California, USA, supporting Watsonville and Aptos sites.

Salary: $125,000–$140,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain Ubiquiti UniFi switches, access points, gateways, door control, and video systems across multiple sites.
• Manage WAN connectivity, wireless and wired networks, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, routing, and VPNs.
• Administer Hexnode UEM and Google Workspace, including enrollment, policy enforcement, patching, remote wipe, users, groups, and security settings.
• Maintain network, device, security, SOP, policy, and configuration documentation.
• Automate provisioning, alerting, and ticketing workflows while evaluating AI-assisted IT tools.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, administer KnowBe4 campaigns, support access controls and endpoint hardening, and assist with audit evidence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in network administration, IT infrastructure, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Ubiquiti UniFi or comparable enterprise networking hardware.
• Strong knowledge of WAN, wireless and wired networking, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Experience with MDM/UEM platforms and Google Workspace administration.
• Ability to create SOPs, IT policies, process documentation, and security-related records.
• Strong troubleshooting, independent-work, communication, and basic network security skills.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting office, lab, field, and remote-site environments.
• Network or security certifications such as Network+, CCNA, or Security+.
• Scripting or no-code automation with Python, Bash, Zapier, or similar tools.
• Exposure to SOC 2 or data privacy requirements in biotech or ag-tech.
