Senior Accountant

Location: Fully remote, based in the United States

Salary: $120,000–$135,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Own weekly accounts receivable and accounts payable reviews, cash reporting, payment cadences, treasury activities, and balance sheet controls.
• Manage federal, state, sales tax, and international compliance, equity administration, payroll accuracy, and stock compensation accounting.
• Lead the monthly close, revenue recognition, account reconciliations, consolidated financial statements, and deferred revenue accounting.
• Build rolling multi-year forecasts, executive-ready reporting, and budget-versus-actual reviews with department leaders.
• Partner with Revenue Operations on commission calculations, customer credits, billing disputes, and tax optimization opportunities.
• Modernize the accounting infrastructure, improve approval workflows, strengthen controls, and increase automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or active CPA candidacy is strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of full-cycle month-end close.
• Experience with multi-state and/or international tax compliance.
• Familiarity with equity administration platforms and stock compensation accounting under ASC 718.
• Experience reviewing or managing a junior team member, offshore accountant, or outsourced provider.
• Strong Excel, financial modeling, forecasting, communication, and problem-solving skills, plus proficiency with QuickBooks or a similar general ledger system.

Nice to have

• Experience with fintech tools such as Brex and payroll/PEO platforms.
• CPA certification or active CPA candidacy.
