Product Developer (AI Focused)

Location: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; work may be in-office, hybrid, or remote depending on location

What you will do

• Build foundational systems, services, and tooling that enable AI-driven capabilities across ship design and production software.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software according to development standards and coding guidelines.
• Collaborate with product teams, platform engineers, and architects to operationalize intelligent features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance issues, security concerns, and other technical problems.
• Research and recommend tools, technologies, and process improvements that enhance software quality and productivity.
• Document technical issues, resolutions, development decisions, and development standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Solid software development experience focused on backend or systems engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, C#, or C++.
• Experience designing and building scalable, distributed systems.
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure or MLOps tooling such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or Azure ML.

Nice to have

• Exposure to data engineering frameworks and streaming technologies.
• Experience working with large datasets, particularly in engineering or CAD-related domains.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with spatial data and CAD systems.
