Associate LLM Engineer (Forward Deployment)

Location: Toronto, Canada. Hybrid model with on-site work at client or hirify.global offices three days per week and remote work two days per week. Client-facing work may require travel.

Salary: $75,000–$90,250 per year.

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable, distributed software systems and own architecture decisions.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements and oversee technical execution, code quality, deadlines, and resource allocation.
• Build and deploy LLM pipelines using RAG, agentic workflows, and parameter-efficient fine-tuning methods such as LoRA and QLoRA.
• Architect Databricks governance from data through AI model output, including Unity Catalog.
• Develop prompt and response guardrails for responsible AI requirements.
• Implement DevOps automation, monitoring, continuous integration, and delivery using Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and Terraform.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1–5 years of software development experience, including relevant LLM application development.
• Strong Python and JavaScript skills, with experience using FastAPI or Django for stateless and stateful APIs.
• Proficiency with AWS, Databricks, Azure, Terraform, CloudFormation, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with LLM patterns and tools including RAG, vector databases, hybrid search, agent development, prompt engineering, OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, or DSPy.
• Fluency in English and work authorization for Canada, or the ability to obtain it, are required.

Nice to have

• Front-end development experience with React, Next.js, or Tailwind CSS.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Redis, vector search, and production systems serving thousands of users.
• Experience with security best practices, privacy regulations, Agile, Scrum, and continuous product delivery.
