Sr/Lead AI Harness Engineer

Targeted base pay range: $105,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, and support harness components that steer AI coding agents toward correct, maintainable, and well-architected output.
• Build feedforward guides, reusable agent skills, architectural rules, reference documentation, and codemods.
• Develop feedback sensors including custom linters, static analysis, architecture-fitness tests, verification loops, and LLM-based reviewers.
• Run steering loops that prevent recurring agent mistakes and maintain repository documentation, specifications, and context.
• Contribute to quality gates, release criteria, and LLM testing for AI-generated software quality and safety.
• Improve observability and evaluate harness stability, compatibility, scalability, interoperability, performance, and development metrics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or relevant software architecture, design, development, and testing experience.
• Strong software engineering background with experience in large codebases, architecture, testing, and maintainability.
• Experience building tooling across linters, static analysis, CI pipelines, containerized build and test environments, and instrumentation or observability.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools.
• Experience with spec-driven development, context engineering, agent orchestration, fitness functions, and developer-platform work.
• Ability to communicate designs with architects and discuss strategy and requirements with teams.
