Sr/Lead AI Harness Engineer

Targeted base pay range: $105,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, and support harness components that guide AI coding agents toward production-grade software.
• Build feedforward controls including agent instruction files, reusable skills, architectural rules, reference documentation, and codemods.
• Develop feedback sensors such as custom linters, static analysis, architecture-fitness tests, verification loops, and LLM-based reviewers.
• Engineer controls that prevent recurring agent mistakes and maintain repository documentation, specifications, and context.
• Contribute to quality gates, release criteria, LLM testing, and observability for agent-assisted development.
• Evaluate harness stability, compatibility, scalability, interoperability, and performance while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or relevant software architecture, development, and testing experience.
• Strong software engineering experience with large codebases, architecture, testing, and maintainability.
• Experience building tooling across linters, static analysis, CI pipelines, containerized build and test environments, and observability.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools.
• Experience with spec-driven development, context engineering, agent orchestration, fitness functions, and developer-platform work.
• Ability to communicate designs with architects and discuss strategy and requirements with engineering teams.
