CPU Performance Architect

Location: US, Texas, Austin; hybrid work with regular on-site presence at the assigned hirify.global site.

Salary: $122,440–$172,860 USD gross annual compensation.

What you will do

• Define end-to-end CPU architecture specifications, features, and technology targets across the product life cycle.
• Set and optimize performance, power, frequency, area, and timing targets for CPU products ranging from high-performance computing to low-power segments.
• Develop microarchitecture features, instruction set extensions, and proof-of-concept design alternatives.
• Model CPU performance and power, analyze workload bottlenecks, and identify areas for improvement.
• Create tests, test plans, simulations, and testing infrastructure; analyze results for performance benchmarking.
• Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, and validation teams to resolve implementation issues and improve CPU designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, EECS, ECE, or a related computing discipline with 3+ years of experience; or a master’s degree with 2+ years; or a PhD with relevant experience.
• Experience with high-performance microarchitecture techniques and research.
• Knowledge of CPU architecture and microarchitecture simulators, tracing technologies, and performance analysis.
• At least 6 months of experience or coursework in C++.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model in Austin, Texas, with on-site presence at the assigned hirify.global location.

Nice to have

• PhD in CS, EECS, ECE, or a related discipline.
• Internship or professional experience in CPU design or verification.
• Advanced object-oriented programming skills with C++ and STL.
