Research Associate (Biomarker Assay Development)

Location: Onsite in Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA

Salary: $59,100–$87,900 annual base salary, with potential discretionary or non-discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Execute experiments under close guidance using established protocols and standard operating procedures.
• Analyze experimental data and assist with reports and presentations.
• Support reagent development and assay development projects focused on biomarker measurements.
• Maintain laboratory supplies, equipment, electronic inventory databases, and reagent inventories.
• Process, aliquot, vial, label, and maintain laboratory materials.
• Monitor and report on laboratory or functional-area infrastructure when assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience and strong scientific fundamentals with an analytical background.
• Ability to learn and follow laboratory techniques, protocols, SOPs, and safety precautions.
• Basic data analysis, strong communication, organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work at a laboratory bench for up to 75% of the day, occasionally work above four feet, and lift or move up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work with chemical reagents and potentially handle BSL-2 materials, including human blood and blood products.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Industry laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of immunoassay technology, MS Excel, GraphPad Prism, or SharePoint.
