Scientist I (Biotechnology Assays)

Location: Waltham, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid and flexible work arrangements are available.

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year.

What you will do

• Plan, execute, analyze, and document experiments for assay development, optimization, and validation.
• Implement assays on biotechnology analyzers and conduct verification and validation studies.
• Troubleshoot experimental methods, instrumentation, chemicals, and biological materials.
• Recommend technical approaches and contribute to project milestones, reports, and presentations.
• Collaborate with Production, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Technical Support, and Marketing.
• Support knowledge transfer and technical skill development within the team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience, or an M.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or Biomedical Engineering with 1–5 years of industry experience.
• B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or Biomedical Engineering with 5–10 years of industry experience is also accepted.
• Experience with Word, Excel, and laboratory statistical programs.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced product development environment.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, teamwork, quality, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to wear PPE and work safely with chemicals, biological agents, and cell lines while performing precise repetitive laboratory tasks.
