Systems Engineer (C)

Location: Fully remote within Europe with CET ±2hrs overlap

What you will do

• Architect, build, and maintain the core infrastructure powering the cloud platform.
• Design platform components supporting scale-to-zero, autoscaling, and strong workload isolation.
• Optimize performance, security, and reliability across serverless, AI agent, IDE, and telemetry workloads.
• Develop stress harnesses, soak tests, and regression checks to validate production-scale behavior.
• Investigate rare race conditions, memory leaks, and other difficult systems failures.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap and work directly with users to improve the platform.

Requirements

• Strong C programming skills and deep knowledge of systems-level programming.
• Experience with operating systems, embedded systems, or device drivers.
• Understanding of memory management, concurrency, and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of QEMU/KVM virtualization and Linux internals, including networking.
• Experience with GCC, Clang, C toolchains, build systems, and cross-compilation.
• Strong debugging, collaboration, and technical communication skills; English proficiency at B2 level is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cloud Hypervisor or Firecracker micro-VMMs.
• Comfort working close to the Linux kernel.
• Experience with Rust.
